Boring ass info post... but please read it anyway!

Here's a little late friday night info for you, since i'm stuck at work anyway:

Eckel will be in Germany from the 21st till the 29th of January.
And he will be working at the Brighton Tattoo Convention on January 30th and 31st.
So if you wanted to come by and talk to him at the shop, please wait until the 2nd of February where he'll be at the shop most of the day, doing just that.

Our work schedules are pretty random these days, so we advice you not to drop by without emailing us first, cause we might not be here.
Also, between January 29th and February 8th we won't be answering mails or taking any consultations.*
During that time Allan will be working, but the shop will be closed for everyone except the people getting tattooed.
So, if you have something urgent to discuss, please do so before January 29th.

Thanks for reading and have a fantastic weekend!

*Eckel's consultation day on the 2nd is obviously an exception.

A not so fun update

For personal reasons, we've been forced to cancel our trip to the Milan Tattoo Convention in February.
Allan hadn't booked any clients for the show, but we still sincerely apologize to anyone who was hoping to get tattooed by him during the convention.
We hope to be back at our usual spot next to Mr. Dettmer next year!

The next convention Uncle Allan is attending will be Ink n Iron in Long Beach, California in June.

Thanks heaps!

As you all know we've been a little preoccupied with the new shop lately.
And we still are.
We've been at the same spot for about 9 years, so moving is a big deal, even bigger than if we were moving to a new apartment, i think.
It's gonna be the beginning of a new era for us, with new possibilities and new projects and... shit like that, you know what i mean!
So with all that going on, it's easy to forget to blog about other stuff.
Like what it's all about, which is art.
Basically.
So with that in mind i thought i'd post a couple of new tattoos.
Both tattoos are on the same client, Kane from Australia.
He got tattooed two days in a row, one day by Eckel and one day by Allan, and sat like a trooper for both sessions.
What a guy!

Day one; Eckel
Day two; Uncle Allan

Thanks for coming all the way to Copenhagen to get tattooed, and for getting fun pieces too, we hope to see you again some day, maybe even in Australia!

Score!

Our friendly neighbors at WAS were nice enough to donate a sofa from their current exhibition, Domestic Mashup, to our new shop.
Too bad we can't steal their wallpaper too!
Free stuff is awesome, and now we have one less piece of furniture to buy for the new shop.
Thanks guys!

This little orange wonder will be Big Red's new sidekick
Color selections are going pretty well, but it's hard.. it's like there are either too many colors to choose from, or not quite enough... *sigh*

New shop address and map!

Today we went by the new shop again.
Renovations seem to be going great, but since there's so much to do, it's hard to say when exactly it'll be finished and when we'll have the opening party.
But we've decided to make the official moving day, at least for now, March 1st.
So anyone booked after March 1st, or anyone dropping by for a consultation, should do so at our new address:

Schleppegrellsgade 7, kld.
2200 København N

The new shop is the "A" and our current shop is the red/black dot, it may look far, but it's actually just a 10 minute walk (it's true i timed it!)
And a closer look

We'll still send out emails with the address and map info, but now you have it here too.
Wow, it seems so real now...
I'm so used to being secretive, cause nothing was confirmed 100%, but now it's really out there!

To our foreign clients coming from the airport:
-Take the train or metro from inside the terminal
-Get off at Nørreport Station
-Walk down Frederiksborggade
-Cross Dr. Louise's Bridge
-After you've crossed the bridge you either turn right and walk along the lakes, or go down the next street, Ravnsborggade, until you get to Schleppegrellsgade.

Toy exodus

I started packing already.
Well, a little bit of packing anyway.
I had one tiny little box lying around and i needed to do something, so i packed up some of the stuff around my fortress.
Bye bye toy buddies, see y'all soon
There wasn't actually room for all of them, just the ones in my office
Newest additions to the family: lego Conspiracy crew, a present from some recent Aussie clients
My (way too small) Booska collection
Don't worry, pervy John MacCain, you're coming with us

Next week i'm gonna start packing for reals, in big boxes.

3.0 update

Yesterday we made two visits to the new shop, so i figured it was about time with an update.
The renovations started right after New Years, and so far it's going really well.
We got people working on floors, walls, windows, electricity and wallpaper.
We pretty much have people taking care of everything!

We're still planning on having a work weekend though, maybe in early february, where we're gonna paint some rooms and eat some pizza, and you'll all be very welcome to join us.
More updates on that plan later!

This floor may need some work... just a little work
Workroom
My office!
Our kitchen, color suggestions are welcome (keep in mind that it has to match the hideous floor)
Without these guys there probably wouldn't be a new shop

We've picked out some wallpaper for the front room, and kind of decided on colors for most of the other rooms, but there's still a ton of stuff we need.
Since this new shop is so much bigger than our current shop, there's a lot of furniture we need to buy, and not a lot of time to do it.
But once it's finished, it'll be glorious!!

More updates coming soon!

Office space

The good news: it looks like we're moving after all.
I know, i didn't really keep you up to date on the moving business, so you may have missed the part where we were sure it wasn't gonna happen, but it's back on.
I don't wanna go "YAY" just yet, but it's looking good.

The bad news: i didn't buy this desk for my new office when i had the chance, and now i can't find another one like it.

It wasn't in the best condition, but still, so awesome
Look, the other side has shelves and a secret compartment

So, if there are any collectors of mid-century Danish design furniture out there who needs to clear out their basements, i'll take a desk!

What does that shop do again...?

Oh yeah, that's right... tattoos!
Haven't seen too many of those around here lately.
Stingy Allan is keeping all of his tattoo photos for his own blog (normally i'd link to that, but you probably know it already, so whatever), and i practically had to beg for this one.
But it worked and i got it.
So ha!

This one is from yesterday, and it's a straight up portrait.
And coming from Uncle Allan, that's a very rare thing.*
The tattoo is on our old(est) friend Martin, and the handsome devil on his arm is a hero and inspiration of his.
And no, Helle, it ain't MJ!

Ladies & gentlemen, Mr. Fats Waller
It was a long, long day, so we ordered some delicious food and had a dinner break

It's gonna be a while before i'll have any new tattoos to post here.
Not just because i have to wrestle my husband for his, and the other two guys are out trotting the globe, but mainly because we're taking some much needed time off for christmas.
There'll be people at the shop from time to time, but if you really need to reach us (and it better be important!) just send us a mail.

However, i am hoping to have some info on the new shop this week.
It's been... complicated, but hopefully there'll be something to share with you all soon.

This is old, but you get the idea... merry christmas y'all!

*Who here's guessing that the first draft had roses on it?

Worlds greatest cleaning lady!

Look what was waiting for us at the shop today:

Muffins! Fancy ones too!
Extra special, extra colorful
Sprinklicious
I ate this one
Gentleman bird tried to get in on the muffin action, but he couldn't, being dead and all

Thanks Anne, you really outdid yourself this time!

Our Lady of Doom

The antler lady has been for sale at the shop for a couple of months now, but we've just been way too busy to send her overseas.
She's too big to fit in an envelope, so we had to find some paper tubes that could fit her, and that mission has finally been accomplished.

So, if you've always wanted to own your very own limited Uncle Allan print (only 60 made), signed and numbered by the man himself, here's your chance!

The info on how to purchase one can be found on our myspace (in the merch blog post).
If you're not on myspace and want to know more, just post a comment here.

We're only gonna ship out once before closing down for Christmas and new years, so if you want it this year, place your order before the 21st of December.

The lady measures 51x36 cm and she's printed on fancy card stock

We're back

Sorry for the lack of action on this blog while we were in Japan.
I hope you've checked mine and Allan's personal blogs from time to time, at least they've been sort of active.

Today is the 30th and for some that means time to send your in submissions for some sweet, future Uncle A tattoos.
I just wanted to let you know that it's gonna be a little while before you'll get a reply to those mails.
I'm just gonna collect them all this week, and then get out the calendar and try to fit everybody in.
After that, i'll get back to you, so please don't mail me more than once.

Unfortunately, i can already tell that there won't be time for everyone this time around.
This is not because i don't want to give you all appointments (there's nothing i'd rather do) or because Allan doesn't want to tattoo you (if i didn't occasionally stop him, he'd tattoo all the friggin time).
It's simply because there's not enough time.
We're already booked for a really long time and we don't want to be booked so far into the future that it won't be possible for us to take a trip somewhere, or a day off once in a while, so we're gonna try to fit in as many as possible, and the rest will have to get back to us when we take new clients again.
The selection process is not gonna be first come, first served, so you still have all week to write me.
Ok, i think that's it!
If you don't get an appointment this time around, don't be discouraged, we'll open up for new clients again in a couple of months.

Oh, also, i'm starting to get a few Milan mails already too.
If we do Milan in February, it'll be the same deal as last year: walk ins only, and you'll be able to chose from a bunch of line drawings that'll only be tattooed once.
Kind of a custom flash type deal!
We don't take request for the flash, Allan is gonna do whatever he feels like, and if you like it, come by the booth and get it tattooed.
All be designs will be made to take around three hours and as usual he's not tattooing any weird or awkward spots.

Ok, now that's really it!
I'm actually super sick and the only known cure to this type of food poisoning* is Star Trek and Lucifer snuggles.

Just because no one likes a post with no pictures, here's one of us at Inkrat with our American buddies, Hata and Allans Singapore clients

*Damn you sushi, i have your image tattooed on my arm and this is how you repay me?
Shame!

Kimono pattern awesomeness

Allan had two sessions on his back this weekend, both around six hours.
Phew.

Light as a feather

Allan did two of these little foot feathers (slightly different from each other, but i figured one photo was enough) AND that giant cover up on Wednesday.
He sure is busy here.
Tomorrow; Yokohama!

Ellie's first tattoo (or is this the second feather?)

Back in Koenji

So, now we're in Tokyo, Japan.
Me and Allan, that is, we left Nick, Eckel and Lucifer at home.
We arrived on saturday and today is... i don't even know, wednesday maybe?
Whatever day it is, it's damn good to be home!

Allan has been working a lot, there are pictures up on his blog already.
Besides that we're just hanging out with our Japanese/American posse.
This weekend Allan is gonna get some work done on his backpiece and the weekend after that we'll go to a mini convention in Osaka.
Oh, and we're going to a j-pop concert too, so awesome!

Today at Inkrat
Gui is getting some flames covered

Later tonight, Okonomiyaki at one of our favorite restaurants, yum!
